Wanda Woods: January 26, 1918 - April 7, 2010
Yesterday, my grandmother passed away. She had been suffering from several mini strokes and heart attacks since January. She would get better and then have another attck. Close to three weeks ago, she had a stroke that left her throat paralyzed. She was unable to speak or swallow. For the first week or so, she was able to swab her mouth and get small amounts of liquid. She wasn't able to speak, but she still wrote notes to us, did puzzles (the above picture was taken a week and a half ago), etc. After that, she started going downhill quicker and finally took her last breaths yesterday. She had been staying with my mom and dad for the past few months. Despite the sad circumstances, my mother is so happy that she was able to spend the last four months with her mom and much of the time with her siblings as well.
My grandmother is survived by six children and many, many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was loved and will be missed greatly.
