In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness [was] upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. - Genesis 1:1-2 KJV
Because the earth was without form, we made "goop", because no matter how much you try, you really can't make this cornstarch and water mixture form and keep a real shape.
And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. And God saw the light, that [it was] good: and God divided the light from the darkness. And God called the light Day, and the darkness he called Night. And the evening and the morning were the first day. - Genesis 1:3-5 KJV
For this activity, the girls played with flashlights in a dark room. They also made day & night (or dark & light cookies). It was an idea that I picked up from here, though I modified it a bit. We made sugar cookies and coated one half of each cookie in melted chocolate chips. Yum!
This week we read from the King James Version of the bible as well as:
We also did the coloring pages found here (They have different grade levels. We chose kindergarten.)
