And God said, Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters. And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which [were] under the firmament from the waters which [were] above the firmament: and it was so. And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day. - Genesis 1:6-8 KJV
Because the waters were divided on this day, the girls did some water play.
They played in their wading pool.
They painted with frozen, colored water.
We did a water cycle experiment. We added a small amount of salt water to a bowl. Inside that bowl, we put a smaller, empty bowl. Then, we covered the two bowls with saran wrap. We placed a marble on the saran wrap, directly above the smaller bowl. This created a downward curve in the saran wrap. Then we placed the bowls in the sunlight. This experiment took a long, long time, but eventually it worked. Fresh water evaporated from the salt water, it gathered on the saran wrap and rained down into the smaller bowl. The water in the smaller bowl was not salty like the water in the large bowl was.
The girls also colored Day 2 in their coloring book.
